Learning and growing in God's love
Redeemer Lutheran Preschool’s morning program runs from 9 AM until 12 PM, with an early drop-off option available. Our program is geared towards children who are 33 months old (and potty-trained) through five years. We love the creative, theme-based education our program offers, and the strong emphasis our teachers place on play and literacy. Our teachers also incorporate daily Bible stories and prayers into the morning routine, and make time for music, dramatic play, sensory exploration, arts and crafts, and other age-appropriate academic activities, including STEM methods and learning through physical movement. This important learning takes place in a bright, comfortable classroom with a restroom, kitchenette, and lots of windows. Our students also have access to a large indoor motor room and a fenced-in playground with climbers, a sandbox, riding toys (and a riding track), and shade trees. Occasional field trips and family events round out our excellent and time-tested preschool program.
In addition to our morning program, Redeemer Lutheran Preschool now has full day and afternoon session only options. Families can leave their children at Redeemer for a full day of learning and growth! After the morning session ends at noon, children staying on for the full day class will eat the lunches they each brought from home and have a brief resting period. At 1:00 PM, children staying for full days will join their other friends arriving for our new afternoon program.
This new afternoon program is nature-based and runs from 1:00-4:00 PM, also follows the WAPS calendar, and is designed for the same age group as the morning program. The program includes at least an hour and a half of daily outdoor time when the weather is safe, manageable, and above 20 degrees. During this outdoor time, with a teacher facilitating, children are in charge of their own learning, and are allowed to choose how they play and what materials they work with. Exploration, physical play, and wonder in God's creation give children enhanced opportunities to develop motor, social, and academic skills. This outdoor time is supplemented with age-appropriate daily group chores, a naturebased daily reading time, and organized physical play and nature-based arts, crafts, and activities.
